What kind of work suits RPA?
Repetitive, rule-bound work done on a computer: copying data between systems, bulk form filling, scheduled report downloads, monthly reconciliation. Work requiring judgement, where the rules differ each time, does not suit a robot.
How does RPA differ from system integration?
Integration lets systems talk directly — more robust, but it needs an API or database access. RPA imitates a person clicking and typing, changes nothing in the original system, and works quickly on legacy software with no API. The two are often combined.
Do the robots make mistakes?
On well-defined processes a robot is steadier than a person — it does not tire or misread a row. That assumes the process itself has been thought through. We test thoroughly before go-live and add exception handling and run logs so issues can be traced.
